Have you ever experienced any of these?
Desperately searching for your phone while on a phone call
Setting down your glasses and having them VANISH (Bonus points because you can't even see to find them)
Opening a closet and finding an entire hobby you went all-in on for a week then forgot about
Knocking over a cup that you JUST set on the table
Frantically texting and feeling guilty because you realized that you forgot your partner even exists for a day
Many ADHDers can confirm that "out of sight, out of mind" is very true for many aspects of our lives. From bills to pills, people or food, if we don't physically see it, it can easily be forgotten about. Even carefully stocked pantries can fall victim to this and turn into a mystery zone for snacks and food. As soon as the fridge door closes, its not out of the ordinary for food to expire or for us to pick up multiples of items we already have. Sometimes, friends and family might unintentionally end up feeling neglected when our poor object permeance extends to our relationships. Unread messages and thoughts of reaching out can easily slip through the cracks.
